Our journey through the kids party entertainment industry began on January 1, 1997. Since then we have delivered countless thousands of hours of entertainment all over the Kansas City area. We have delivered to members of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Wizards, and to many well known establishments including the Kansas City Zoo. We've provided entertainment for birthday parties, holidays, block parties, school events, church events, corporate events, and other joyous reasons for celebration. We are not some fly by night company destined to become another "here today, gone tomorrow" two-year statistic. With over 12 years of kids party rental experience we've encountered just about every circumstance both good and bad. This experience has helped us to mold a business plan for continued success. We believe this is why year in and year out over one-third of our customers are either repeat or referred.
We specialize in entertainment for kids. Our services are usually contracted out for birthday parties, school functions, church events, and other special events. Our assortment of inflatables includes a collection we consider "moonwalks." Moonwalks are vinyl designs that inflate with air and are usually jumped on. The most popular moonwalk is a bounce house - sometimes also known as jumper, bouncer, or jump house. They are shaped like a house with various designs to choose from and kids really enjoy jumping in them. Each of our regular bounce houses also has a basketball hoop built inside. To spruce things up a bit we offer a combo unit that has both a full size bounce house and a 5' slide. The only thing more fun than jumping in one of our bounce houses is sliding out. For something a lot different we offer an obstacle course. Instead of just jumping, kids use our obstacle course to race, climb, and play too. Our standard hours of operation are 9am to 9pm daily for both deliveries and incoming phone calls. We will deliver any day of the year, including all holidays. Our messaging service is also available for after hours and times when we can not answer the phone.
We deliver to all of Johnson County, Kansas and to many cities surrounding. Our delivery area is limited to the area defined here. While our delivery area encompasses a sizable area of square mileage, our schedule may become limited due to current scheduling. For example, we will deliver to both Leavenworth and Lee's Summit, but not on the same day. It is always to your advantage to reserve early in effort to avoid being in an area we normally cover but could not due to customers that scheduled before you.
With over a dozen years in the kids party entertainment industry we are confident our plan for success is effective not only for us, but of course for our customers too. We realize you have other choices and believe the best deal anyone can find is a great price for awesome quality. Some of our competitors focus on the one thing they do best, others will try to scare you into believing they are the only legitimate company in the area. The truth is we're all pretty much the same with different approaches on what prices should be, how often to clean out the moonwalks, and the quality of products we use. At Air Jump Moonwalks we promise a very competitive price, a very clean moonwalk rental, and nothing but inflatable equipment designed for use in the party rental industry. We strive to succeed your expectations with service second to none. While this might all look nice in words, we know we have satisfied nearly every single of the countless customers we have had in the last 12 years, many of whom would be happy to provide you with a referral upon requet. We know how much time and effort goes into planning a special event and we promise you can count on us to get it right (again).
As mentioned in the paragraph above, we definitely do have references available upon request. Birthday parties and other special events come around only every so often and can not be re-planned at the very last minute without complications. It may be fun to gamble in Las Vegas but doing so with your special event to save $5 or $10 while sacrificing quality is more of a bad investment than a gamble. Certain things about your entertainment just can not be known until it actually shows up, regardless of promises made when ordering. Hence, we highly encourage you to request references from where ever you may choose your kids party entertainment. We have references avaiable both for our moonwalk rentals and clowns/live entertainers.
We normally do not require a deposit on moonwalk rentals, while we usually do require clown and other live entertainment to be fully prepaid at least a week before the event. We reserve the right to require deposits on moonwalks that may be scheduled for very busy days and/or out of our regular delivery route. Any moonwalk deposit that is actually required will be refundable up until 7 days before the event. It becomes non-refundable and non-transferable within 7 days of the event unless the event is canceled or postponed due to weather. All deposits received on moonwalk rentals will be fully refundable and transferable if the event is canceled or postponed due to weather and/or if canceled with at least a 7 day notice. Refunds are not offered on any moonwalk/inflatable rental after it has been set up and accepted by the customer (this includes complications due to weather, lack of permissions, electricity failure, etc). All payments on live entertainers are fully refundable up until an hour before the show is scheduled to begin. Live entertainment is non-refundable after the show begins. Any live entertainment canceled without at least one hour notice is subject to a trip fee of $50.
When it comes to making payment for your entertainment we have various options available. You can pay by credit card or e-check by using PayPal, a trusted online payment processor. PayPal payments must be received at least 7 days before a scheduled event and are subject to a 4% additional convenience charge. You can find our PayPal instructions here. You may also send your payment by mail with a money order or check. Once again we request to received mailed payments at least 7 days before an event to process payment with our bank. If you are reserving a live entertainer we require prepayment by one of the above methods. If you will be having an inflatable rental with us then you may also choose to pay your full balance (including live entertainer if also included) in cash at the time of your inflatable delivery. Since we require PayPal, check, and money order payments to be received at least 7 days in advance we accept cash only for all entertainment not prepaid for. In other words, if paying for your moonwalk on the day of the event we require cash only.
From our experience we find our customers inquiring as early as a year ahead of time up until the actual day of an event. Most of our customers book 4-6 weeks before their event. We take last minute bookings when we can accept them but it can get quite busy around here, especially on Saturdays and holidays. For instance, if you want something on the 4th of July there is no way we will have an opening the day before because so many people are going to call before that. Our business plan is to rent out our equipment so we often must turn away last minute customers. This is not always the case, but we hope to stress how valuable it can be to reserve before the crowd. Additionally, we typically run a unique route each weekend for our deliveries. If your event seems fairly close (say Olathe) it might not seem so close if we've spent the last month making our reservations up by the airport or elsewhere in North Kansas City. To ensure we will have what you are interested in we recommend giving as much notice as possible. If you are flexible with your date and/or requested entertainment then early notice may not be such an issue; on dates like the 4th of July it certainly is.
We guarantee our entertainment will arrive as promised. Our moonwalks will be delivered on time, in excellent condition, and clean. Our live entertainers will arrive on time, stay for the entire time, do all expected activities (pending the given number of kids expected and planned for is accurate), and have lively/kid-friendly personality. While we make every effort to be perfect all the time we are still human and prone to mistakes like anyone else. We believe our experience dramatically reduces the chance of a mistake but if one happens at your event we will make it up to you. We handle any complication on an event by event basis. If we fail to live up to our promise of excellent entertainment, we will appropriately make up for it.

The simple answer is yes. In detail, we clean each moonwalk after each rental with a vacuum and disinfectant spray. The vinyl material in a moonwalk molds very easily when wet, but our moonwalks are not moldy (we've seen some that are). While it's virtually impossible to keep a moonwalk 100% spotless after it begins circulation, we make every effort to keep our moonwalks as tidy as can be for the cleanly moonwalk experience you should expect. If we had a way of proving it, we might say our inflatables are the cleanest in town.
Our inflatables are all designed with safety features built in. Each of our bounce houses is fully enclosed with mesh-netted windows making the front entrance the only way in or out. At the front entrance of each moonwalk is a safety ramp that not only makes it easier for the kids to get in, it also is the first line of defense just in case anyone does slip out accidentally (very rare). Each of our bounce houses also have a roof, discouraging any who might brave to climb out that way. Our idea of a very unsafe moonwalk would be one not fully enclosed or about to fall apart, where kids could easily fall out and get injured. Air Jump Moonwalks only uses safe inflatable equipment designed with extra safety features and maintained in safe condition.
We would also like to add that any inflatable can be unsafe if not used properly. Each of our moonwalks have a standard purpose for enjoyment. At the time of your delivery we will remind you of our instructions for safe play (which includes proper parental supervision). Just as one would not let their kids jump head first on to the ground off a trampoline, common parental sensibility ensures are inflatables are used safely. Please note we only deliver and pick up our inflatables, we do not stay to provide supervision or monitoring of our equipment.
We classify all of our current inflatables in like-new condition. Like-new inflatables are very presentable in clean and undamaged fashion. We achieve this by cleaning each rental after use and by immediately repairing any damage. We also interchange our older units with newer ones as needed to keep our inventory both fresh and exciting. Moonwalks do not last forever due to normal wear and tear. It's hard to know whether your rental is in like-new condition or on its last leg until it arrives to your event. We guarantee our rentals will be warmly received when first presented due to appearance alone.
At first this probably sounds like a strange question because should not all moonwalks be designed to be party rentals? The very clear answer is: absolutely not! A huge difference in quality is sacrificed when one goes with a toy store bought moonwalk over an industrial one. No offense to China but most toy store bought moonwalks are made there. We have learned these moonwalks are not only much smaller, they seem to be very poorly manufactured. These cheap inflatables are designed with low-grade beach ball plastic and barely stitched together. Our experiment with a Banzai water slide was so poor we would never try it again. A few years ago we bought 3 of them and they all fell apart by the second use. When it comes to actually buying an inflatable, we get what we pay for. Toy store moonwalks are a couple hundred dollars, professionally designed moonwalks run a couple thousand. This is because they are designed with 18 oz. heavy vinyl material and then double stitched for longer life. When renting an inflatable from anywhere it is always wise to be sure your money is going for an actual industrial use moonwalk, like all of ours are.
Our prices vary depending on various factors but we often hear our prices are very reasonable. It is ideal to give as much notice in advance of your order as possible for the best selection and price. Our prices are subject to rise on very busy dates or when the location of your event does not fit in well with the schedule we already have. We certainly do! Whether you would like a couple inflatables, an inflatable and a clown, or all of the above - we can get you a great rate with one of package combos. We often offer various online combo deals which you can find here. If you do not see the package deal you are looking for simply contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your specific needs.
Bad weather is not a good mix for outdoor activities, especially not inflatables that require being plugged in to an electrical outlet. Rain, lightning, and high winds are unsafe for moonwalk use so an accurate weather forecast is important. We will not deliver our inflatables during inclement weather. If the weather passes we will resume deliveries when possible. You will not be charged anything if your delivery is canceled due to weather. Sometimes it is hard to tell what the weather will do. In this case we will ask you to decide knowing we don't offer refunds due to weather. Nobody wants to pay for a moonwalk that goes unused and gets rained on, we will take every possible step to avoid this. If you would like to reschedule we will happily accomodate you at no extra cost, schedule permitting.
Most of our entertainment is delivered for home events. However, we also service entertainment for special events held at parks, schools, churches, and business locations. We will deliver to just about any location provided the proper permission. Certain parks may or may not have specific requirements we do or do not meet. It is always best to contact your park and find out what is required before making a reservation. We will deliver a moonwalk to a place where the public has access to it only if a designated supervisor will be supplied by the customer and be on duty for the entire duration of rental.
We will set up on almost any surface including grass (preferred), cement, floor, and other safe surfaces. We will not set up on sand, dirt, or mud as it not only can cause a big mess in the moonwalk but also damage the air blower. Believe it or not we will set up on snow but not while it's actually snowing or predicted to snow. We will need to know the surface you plan to set up on before your order so the correct preparations are brought.
Our rental lengths vary from one hour to eight hours. We will customize your order however you might like. Our best value is with our all day (8 hour) rentals. We also offer very reasonable prices on over-night and multiple day rentals.

We will only need a few things to get your moonwalk up and running. The first thing needed is a good place to set up. Generally a nice sized area for a bounce house is 20' x 20' with no trees or wires at least 20' above. Our obstacle course requires an area approximately 30' x 20' with a 15' clearance on top. After that we will need a place to plug in to. A standard 3-prong electrical outlet is required (it should be a socket independent of any other heavy duty electrical items such as refrigerators, DJ equipment, etc). This outlet should also be within 100' of where we plan on setting up. If electricity is a problem you can also rent a generator from various places (including some Home Depot's). These generators require gasoline but can power a moonwalk for hours. Besides parental supervision, we will just need some kids and that is it, hours of endless jumping fun will make your special event a big hit!
Kids ages 1 and up have enjoyed the use of or bounce houses. The ideal age for maximum enjoyment is probably 3-4 years old and up, but the younger ones bouncing together can have just as much fun. Each of our moonwalks can hold a maximum of 600 pounds at one time. We normally suggest 6-8 kids should be inside of a bounce house at one time.
The only thing(s) that should really go into a moonwalk are kids. Unfortunately Fido, Felix, and the other animal pets will need to be left out of the moonwalk fun. At this time all of our rentals are dry so we also request no liquids go in or near a moonwalk at any time. During the summer it can get tempting to spray one down with the water hose but we request ideas like this be not acted upon. We also request all users refrain from bringing in sharp objects, food, drink, candy, gum, shoes, fireworks, silly string, and/or other mess makers.
All of our inflatables are delivered by a member of All Star Moonwalks and included free or charge. We do not offer a service that allows customers to come pick up their own inflatable.
One of of our goals is to offer clown entertainment that is more fun than you can find anywhere else. Our standard clown show includes games on a 12' colorful parachute, a mini magic show, face painting, animal balloon twists, a birthday card creation activity, music, and extra attention to the birthday child (for birthday events). Our clowns can also help you with activities you have planned including cake cutting, pictures, pinatas, and more. We will be glad to customize the activities in our show any way you might like. The average clown show is 60 minutes long. We offer show lengths from 30 minutes on up. We suggest 60 minutes for up to 15 kids and 30 minutes more per 10 children expected. Our suggested time frame is required to complete all of the regular activities in our show. If you are having more kids but do not want a longer show you might choose to cut out some of the activities.
If your celebration is a birthday party our clown will go out of his/her way to ensure the celebrant gets plenty of extra attention. Your special birthday person will know they are the person of honor when our clown entertains.
Air Jump Moonwalks only uses in-house entertainers that meet our demanding clown qualifications. Special occasions are just too delicate to outsource so we will only send you a live entertainer we have personally trained. We know your entertainer must not only be entertaining but reliable, punctual, and inspired as well. Our clowns will meet or succeed your expectations, guaranteed! You don't need to take our word for it, we will gladly provide you with references upon request.
Actually, our clowns are GREAT with kids! We hire friendly, lively, and enthusiastic personalities only.
This is one of the most common questions we get from customers who have had a clown before. It is hard for us to understand but apparently many clowns leave early because they run out of things to do. We guarantee our entertainer will stay the entire promised duration, if not longer. Most people tip our clowns for a job well done, so you can count on a clown that won't leave a minute early when you have an Air Jump Moonwalks entertainer.
The first answer is yes, our clown will do all activities promised at the time of your reservation - guaranteed! As we base our party planning on information provided by our customers, we do reserve the right to alter the planned agenda if the actual guest headcount differs from what we were originally told when the reservation was placed. For instance, if someone tells us 15 kids will be at the party but we find 25 kids actually at the party, an activity may have to be sacrificed in order to do the show of requested length. You can also call us to extend the length of your show to avoid such a problem. On the other hand, if someone tells us 30 kids will be there and only 5 show up, things may need to be adjusted once more. For parties able to accurately predict a guest headcount range, all promised activities will be performed.
Yes, please do. Tipping in the live entertainment industry is the norm, whether the entertainment is for kids or adults. It's obviously not mandatory but our clown will think they did something horribly wrong if they receive no tip. 18-20% is the standard but some people offer more when they are extremely satisfied. Our clowns love working with kids but they also are trying to make a living at it. We would never suggest tipping a clown after a poor performance but we won't send you a clown like that. Our clowns do a little more to please everyone and we hope you will too
You most certainly can! We will happily do our clown show with less or no face paint (on the clown) and/or with no clown costume (plain clothes instead).
You definitely can! If you would like just an hour of animal balloons and/or face paint, for example, we can do this for you no problem. Our live entertainers are good kids people and can help you conduct a wide assortment of various ideas. Just tell us what your special requests are and we will make it happen!
